Code of Conduct

1. Purpose & Professional Integrity

I commit to practicing with honesty, integrity, respect, and professionalism. My intention is to support clients’ well-being, nervous system regulation, and body awareness within my scope of training and competency.

I represent my qualifications accurately and continue ongoing education to maintain high professional standards.

2. Scope of Practice

  • I provide PRT-informed care and abdominal therapy techniques for educational, wellness, and supportive purposes only.

  • I do not diagnose medical or mental health conditions, prescribe medications, or replace licensed medical or psychological treatment.

  • I refer clients to appropriate healthcare professionals when issues fall outside my scope of practice.

3. Client Safety & Trauma-Informed Care

  • I prioritize physical, emotional, and psychological safety at all times.

  • Sessions are client-led, consent-based, and paced according to the client’s comfort and capacity.

  • Clients may pause, modify, or stop a session at any time without explanation.

  • I respect nervous system boundaries and avoid coercion, pressure, or forceful techniques.

4. Informed Consent & Communication

  • I clearly explain session goals, techniques, risks, benefits, and alternatives before beginning work.

  • I obtain verbal and/or written informed consent prior to hands-on work and for sensitive areas of the body.

  • I communicate respectfully, transparently, and without judgment.

5. Touch & Physical Boundaries

  • All touch is therapeutic, professional, and within clearly defined boundaries.

  • Draping and privacy are maintained at all times.

  • No sexualized behavior, comments, or innuendo are ever permitted.

  • Any touch involving the abdomen, pelvis, or internal awareness is explained fully and requires explicit consent.

6. Confidentiality & Privacy

  • Client information is kept confidential except where disclosure is required by law or for safety reasons.

  • Records are stored securely and accessed only for professional purposes.

  • Client stories or testimonials are never shared without explicit written permission.

7. Cultural Respect & Inclusion

  • I honor diversity in culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, body type, ability, and lived experience.

  • I practice with humility, curiosity, and respect for each client’s worldview and autonomy.

8. Professional Boundaries & Dual Relationships

  • I avoid relationships that could impair professional judgment or exploit client trust.

  • I do not engage in romantic, sexual, financial, or dependent relationships with clients.

  • Gifts, social media contact, and outside interactions are handled with clear boundaries and professionalism.

9. Collaboration & Referrals

  • I collaborate respectfully with other practitioners when appropriate and with client consent.

  • I refer clients when additional or specialized care is indicated.

10. Hygiene, Environment & Safety

  • I maintain a clean, safe, and professional treatment environment.

  • Proper sanitation, hand hygiene, and equipment care are followed.

  • I follow local health and safety regulations.

11. Ethical Marketing & Representation

  • I advertise services honestly without exaggerated claims or guarantees of outcomes.

  • Client results are individual and never promised.

  • I avoid fear-based or misleading language in marketing.

12. Continuous Learning & Accountability

  • I pursue ongoing education, supervision, and self-reflection.

  • I welcome feedback and address concerns professionally.

  • If I make an error, I acknowledge it, take responsibility, and seek corrective action.

13. Right to Refuse or Terminate Services

  • I reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services if safety, ethical boundaries, or scope of practice are compromised.

  • Clients also have the right to end services at any time.Your privacy and personal data are important. I will only use your personal data to provide the service you have requested and store it carefully.

Data Protection

GDPR requires me to clearly inform you how I use, store and destroy your personal data.

At your first appointment, I collect personal data on your Client Registration Form.

I use your name, address and date of birth to identify you. I use your phone number and/or email address to contact you about your appointments and treatment. Please be aware when you contact me via email or text, I cannot guarantee the security of information.

Medical, health and lifestyle information are all used to ensure I give you a safe and appropriate treatment.

In some cases I may share this information with a mentor. All relevant identifying information will not be disclosed, such as name, address, date of birth. Therefore each case shall remain anonymous.

I also enter your name and email address into an online mailing tool which allows me to send an occasional newsletter. I would like to keep you up to date with useful information & availability but you can opt out of this at any time. If you do not want to be included in this you can chose to do so on your initial intake form.  You can opt out at any time but following the ‘unsubscribe’ button.

Client Registration forms and treatment records are all kept in paper format in a locked cabinet. Any online forms submitted will be stored in a secure password protected folder. 

After 7 years, forms & records will be shredded and electronic records deleted.
